Spring Education Classes

The Lake Wales Arts Center would like to invite you to participate in our 2019 Spring Education Classes. We have classes for youth and adults, including:

  • Youth Symphony (MON)

  • Youth Chorale (MON)

  • Guitar Ensemble (THUR)

  • Elementary Music and Art (TUE)

  • Painting and Pottery (TUE)

  • Photography (THUR)

  • Home School Arts Camp (WED)

  • Morning Painting Studio (TUE)

Classes begin on 1/14/2019 and enrollment closes on 1/18/2019. Semester and monthly payments are available for ALL LWAC classes (Contact The Lake Wales Arts Center for more information): (863) 676-8426. Special discounts are available for enrollment in more than one class. Scholarships are also available for K-12 Students!


Class Information and Schedule

  • Youth Symphony (MON: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM)

    • An ensemble class for 7th-12th grade instrumentalists who are interested in performing classical masterpieces by Mozart, Bach, and more.

  • Youth Chorale (MON: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM)

    • An ensemble class for 7th-12th grade vocalists who are interested in performing medium to advanced classical literature.

  • Guitar Ensemble (THUR: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

    • An ensemble class for guitarists of all skill levels. Traditional music theory knowledge and sight-reading ability is NOT REQUIRED.

  • Elementary Music and Art (TUE)

    • (1st and 3rd Tuesday - Music: 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM)

    • (2nd and 4th Tuesday - Art: 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM)

      • A group class for 2nd-5th grade students who are eager to learn about the visual and performing arts. Each student will participate in painting, drawing, pottery, clay, drama, and instrumental ensemble classes.

  • Painting and Pottery (TUE)

    • (1st and 3rd Tuesday - Painting: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM)

    • (2nd and 4th Tuesday - Pottery: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM)

      • A group class for high school students and adults to create works of art by using techniques learned during the semester. Mediums include watercolor, oil, acrylic, sketch, drawing, hand-sculpting, pinch pots, and much more!

  • Photography (THUR: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

    • Learn how to photograph like a professional with only using your camera phone! This class will focus on techniques and skills that high school students and adults can use to elevate their picture-taking abilities without the requirement of a cost-prohibitive DSLR camera.

  • Home School Fine Arts (WED: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

    • A group class for 1st-8th grade students to explore all visual and performing arts. Students will participate in a wheel-style day that includes painting, drawing, pottery, clay, general music education, drama, group choir, and instrumental ensemble.

  • Morning Painting Studio (TUE: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

    • A NEW visual arts class for adults looking for studio time with a world class moderator. This class will explore various visual arts techniques, but will primarily be based on paintings of the student's choice.
